Hi. I've just bought my first Land Rover and thought I'd share it with you. I've been a car nut since I was a kid and since I passed my driving test 18 years ago , I've probably owned about 30 cars. Usually VAG group motors and usually old! Golf mkI II's and III's, Split screen camper, T25's, A6, Octavia and he list goes on. I've always wanted a Land Rover but never really had the need or lifestyle. Recently, after 3 years of college, I qualified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor and have started to build a client base and run classes. After piling all my gear into my Octavia a few times I realised that I needed something tougher and bigger. At last...a legitimate excuse!
On Thursday I purchased a 2001Y Discovery S (ex Devon and Cornwall Constabulary + 2 more owners) from a guy in Cornwall. It's white which I know isn't everybody's first choice of colour but as a promotional vehicle it'll be ideal. I actually like the colour, especially with all the black details.
Its done 188,000 and I have no real history with it. The 2nd owner after the police added extras like the side steps, 6th and 7th seats, DVD player, roof rack, ladder, 20" Antera alloys and a custom grill(not too keen!). Its also got a tuning chip by PSi which I'd like to find out more about.
After 160 miles of driving I must say I'm very pleased. It cruised home comfortably on the 88mile journey to home. The only issue I've come across is the ineffective front wipers. The wheel boxes seem warn or loose as there isn't much pressure on the screen and they seem to have a mind of there own when on the intermittent setting. I'll look into this in more detail soon.
Anyway, here's a photo. It's just the one from it's advert.

And also one if the front which I plan to modify as soon as I can.
