Hi everyone finally got myself a my first Land Rover she is disco 2004 Td5 es auto,I have been reading the posts on the forum as I am interested in getting a little bit more ooomphhh out of her, So far I have fitted a decat pipe and removed the EGR and Viscous fan I have noticed no temp increases I have noticed better performance with these 3 changes. At present I am keeping the fan in the back just in case

When I removed the EGR the interior of the unit was completely munked up and looking at the rod which should have shown a little bit of shiny metal if working as it opened and closed, was black all over which led me to believe that the EGR had remained open during all vehicle operations.

I am going to fit a bigger intercooler, then a braided hose between the intercooler and turbo, then eventually get a remap as finances allow. I want to say Thank You to all the members on here who are posting know how information on here as i have found this invaluable help.

Cheers

I have done 400 miles since removing the fan around town and Motorway driving and crossed the Dartford Bridge which meant I was sat in traffic for around half an hour the temp gauge didn't rise above normal. If I need to put it back on I can simply put it back on by hand. The direction the fan rotates also means it will be self tightening.

didnt know about the self tightening bit, upto you you wont necessarily get much warning, and if you do have to refit it due to temp guage rising can you film it
