Hi i am a new member to the site. I currently have a 1985 Land rover 90 2.5na diesel, my second. Anyone let me know of any problems with fitting a discovery 200tdi (defender varient is far too expensive)if you have any experience of this i would like to hear from you. Many thanks Chris

Hi, welcome to LZ! yes, i have had this done (well, from a TD to a TDi) and it is a seriously worthwhile conversion.

You will have problems with the exhaust, the air intake will have to change as the alternator gets in the way, the intercooler means you need a new rad but it is all easily do-able. The trickiest bit is the exhaust, which needs some tricky welding - or just buy a kit off of ebay (or steve parker if yer feeling flush!) but you won't look back. It will pay for itself in no time!
 
Sorry Maddie, you're quite right.

As for jeep, i suppose technically it is descended from the original Landrover which was just a knock-off Jeep so Jeep it is then.

That's a nice Jeep you've got there.
