morning to one and all. just wanted to say hello to other landy owners from here in sunny spain and ask a few questions that my haynes manual cant answer. here we go then..... I own a 1998 3.9i v8 discovery which I was forced to sell 3 years ago for only 1500euros and recently bought back pff the owner for 250 euros. In that time he hasnt changed any filters, oil, tyres, brakes or anything therefore that has now been done by me apart from two filters which I cant find anywhere in spain. the first is the carbon filter at the front left side of the engine as you look under the bonnet from the front. the second is the exhaust filter that is also at the front left on the opposite side to the oil filler cap on the rocker box top. where can I get these and what sort of price are we talking?
second question is .... my baby keeps stalling at traffic lights etc. now ive been told that this could be a carbon build up in the plenum chamber or an air problem in the same place and also that maybe the gasket for the carbs has gone. the carbs and the plenum chamber are coming off this weekend and getting a damn good clean. does anyone have any other ideas of what this could be and how can I resolve it?
Please help!!!!!
Many thanks
Karl

Thanks for the reply. asked the owner and he said he´d not had it over 80km an hour (bloody heathen). anyway replaced the plenum chamber and fiddled with the air intake thingymajig and then took it out for a spin. got up to 180km an hour and not a rattle or shake in it. since then i added an injector cleanin solution to the fuel and hes running like a dream now. still having probs gettin the carbon and exhaust fume filters tho. any ideas other than straight from landrover (need a second mortgage to but them)
