Hello from Spain

I just bought a Santana 2500 DL from1990. It has a 2.5 d motor 47kw, 4 speed gearbox like in a series 3. Double door at the back like a van. Front axle is leaking at the flange. Seat base is also from a series 3. Any recommendations to oils here in spain. Or where to get spare parts in general. The car is a puzzle between series 3 and defender. Was used before in the olive plantations in Andalusia. I’m the 2. Owner and probably the first person in years that has a look underneath, everything was covered in thick grease. Needs some serious tlc. It’s my daily use car now

I don't know about them, but they were always a bit of mix n match. If you ask in the defender or series section you will get help, from those that know

It’s the gear box. I gave it a good clean. I’m not sure to pressure wasch the engine It’s also coverd in a crust of oil and dust

Use a good degreaser (gunk) and just use a light spray hose and keep away from electrics and inlet filter area. should be ok and get 90% of the crud off.

I’m taking the crud off with a scraper and a flat head screw driver. Then use degreaser with a brush

Oh and btw. He knows what a gearbox looks like, he was referring to the whole thing.

Hi, I'm in Alhaurin el Grande and just thinking of getting another Land rover......The Santana is interesting but being 6ft 7 talk....not sure I will fit in one. Will probably get a discovery..

I‘m 5 10. it’s just about right. Seat is all the way back. I have a bulkhead behind my seat so it’s not possible to get more space in the back. Less cuishion

Hi, they made the 2500 DC with a 5 speed box and the 2500 DL with a 4 speed, they are basically a series chassis with a Defender body, both use the 2.5 N/A J12 engine, be careful not to wind up the rear halfshafts as they snap quite eaisily
an parts are getting a bit thin on the ground.
