First time posting on the forum and looking for help already!
I have a 2000MY discovery TD5 auto 130K miles. Over the past few months I have had a problem after its been stood idle for several hours.
It starts with no problems but doesnt respond to the accelerator pedal i.e with pedal to the floor it doesn't drive in either Drive or Reverse.
Suspected the accelerator pedal sender unit, but when in Neutral the car revs no problem.
After approx 60 secs the car with then start creeping forward eventually responding as normal to the accelerator. From then on it works ok even after turning the engine off for a while.
If I start the engine from cold and wait for 1 min + the car will drive ok. It's almost as if something is warming up.
Also noticed that in normal driving it appears to be reving more going up the gearbox especially on inclines.
I've had it into my local garage who has checked the engine management system and it is not reporting any faults. Torque box oil level is ok.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers Doug
