Hello there everyone. Just joined the form to do some research intolandys! I currently have a mercedes 190e which I need to get rid of as I am getting my own insurance now. (I'm 19 and have been named with my dads insurance for 2 years, now it's time to get my own no claims!). Iv always wanted a landy but insurance was just too much, but now for some reason it's dirt cheap!
So I'm after a 200tdi 90 van, but I think I will only have a grand or so to spend.. Is it possible to get one for arround about a grand? I'm pretty good mechanicaly i'm not fussed about abit of work. I have taken the injection of the merc and put bike carbs on, done the head gasket, changed gear linkage bushes and stuff..

Cheers
karl!

Hey and welcome to the forums :)

For £1k, you're going to be getting a very tatty, very old, very well-worn 90 that is just, *just* road legal. If you can increase your budget to £1750 or £2000 you stand a much better chance of getting something solid and reasonably reliable.

Hi mate, cheers for the reply.
Yeh after looking about abit more I have noticed I will need to spend about 2k, it all depends how much I can sell my merc for. I don't even kno how much it is worth now! Il put it up on the merc forum and see.
Looking forward to getting one tho, I'm in glossop bearish Manchester so thee should be some half decent green lanes and stuff near by?
Cheers
