hello! standard newbie post!

theres a garage about 40-50 mile from mine (t+t motors) that has loads of used 90s in, I've been online and read reviews from the garage as the ones they have all seem to be bodged up and everyone who reviewed slated them saying they just spray over the rust and to stay away from them.... but going off what s1 was saying about me being 6ft it could be worth me doing a trip and getting a feel for one maybe..

And of course, let's not forget security.

You're going to need loads of it. Starter for ten - cat 1 alarm, tracker, quality steering lock, quality pedal lock, steel ignition barrel....the more, the better. Landy's are VERY easy to steal.

yeh this is what I've read a lot! and does worry me, if i did buy one id have to get all that sorted as well! it would be parked on the drive next to my van and the mrs car blocking it in so hopefully this would help!

Fair play, make sure to test drive something similar to what you are looking to buy, check what engine is fitted , 2.5NA, 19J, 200tdi, 300tdi, .....TD5.( which you will be lucky to get for your money) .

Some people find it OK to drive and are over 6 foot. But I always suspect that those people are strangely proportioned..LOL.

Cheers

Test drive from a garage, then look around for a good private sale. It is worth travelling to get a good one. I would get something decent rather than a fixer upper.
I am six foot one, and driven landrovers for 35 years, it is no problem so long as you avoid long journeys, or break the journey often if you do.
Practical security such as you describe, mine is in a garage with a car parked in front of the garage at night. It also helps if you don't go to town on cosmetics, keep the mechanicals perfect, but battered panels and missing badges deter theft/
