Hi guys

Ist time user so go easy on me :)

I have a 2002 (old shape) Range Rover vogue

Couple of issues I need some help with

1, My air suspension has basically died and am being told its best to just convert to springs - any thoughts ??

2, Assuming conversion is the better option I have seen a Monroe kit for sale £202 plus vat - is that any good ??

3, My sat nav disc is well out of date but the upgrade is about £100 from the maker - I could buy a new tom tom for that  any thoughts ??

Cheers guys

HELLO jackal welcome to the madhouse mate ,,,the eas is a p i t a. but when its working its SOOOOOO good ,Iown a p38 + a classic ,the classic has square wheels compared to the p38 if my eas goes down im going to persevere with it cos its so good ie lot less body roll on corners, better insulation from the road, quieter, smoother,,,on the rough track on the farm 15 mph in tha classic in p38 i aint found the top speed yet!!!! it just glides of the rough stuff ......changes to the suspension could raise issues with your insurance mate ......have you tried coil springs you might not be impressed after eas,,all that expense and graft for NOWT bugger,,,why not see if you can try a coiler before you make a decision mate the eas is superb (when its working) you just gotta get the bugs out of it,,,,,,,,,,dave

Well its been dying for ages now - it takes forever to pump up from starting the car (to reach it's level)

I understand that its basically got a bag on each wheel and a pump which drives them all and either some or all could have failed

If one or more of the bags has a leak it prob means the pump will be working at twice the norm

What worries me is the cost of the fix - I'm skint :-(

Cost of a new air bag - aprox £200 each (may need 4)
Cost of new pump - aprox £300
Labour ?????

may not even def sort the problem out :-(

You can buy a set of bags for around £240 recon pump around £100, you need to diagnose whats at fault ie check for leaks etc use the search facility for eas theres plenty of threads and loads of advice
