Has anybody out there got a can of petrol and some matches. Wish to give my discoII a viking funeral, its not quite dead yet but I'm working on it. May be you guys (and girls, have to be pc ),could help with a little problem I have and save me a gallon of petrol as well. The old TD5 aint running to good, starts fine and ticks over a treat but as soon as you put on the gas it gets very lumpy, almost like all cyls arent doing the do and looses umph. Release the gas and the tick over becomes lumpy. My thoughts are fuel. I changed the filter and it just wouldnt start even doing the self prime bit on the ignition. I was naughty the other day and ran it for probably to long with the fuel light on so thought it may be the pump blocked. I stripped out the pump, cleaned the gauze and blew out the lines and put it all back. I then went through the priming sequence but took ages to start, did the sequence 1/2 a doz times with no luck so basically let it run on the starter till it went. Once again now starts first click and ticks beautifully until the gas goes on, runs lumpy but not so much power loss. Pump seems to run for a very long time to pressure up the system, could it be the pump? Your replies would be most welcome, yours from a possible Landy murderer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
