I decided after all the snow that i would realise a dream of mine and buy a discovery , a 300tdi .Looked at several then a gold es 98 came up on fleabay with a buy it now price of its mine !automatic , leather interior in tan all the bells n whistles . lovely .drove great but the abs light was on , and the wipers wouldnt turn off intermittant .So i bought it .it had done 111k miles by 3 owners , all well n good i thought . turns out maintenance was a mystery to the last owner as was actually looking after the car inside . there is dog scratch marks on the windows inside that only revealed themselves after a carwash, dog hair under the seats . and as for the stuff that dont work..... cruise control, front fog lamps temperamental abs , water pump went (thank gods for the AA and a flexible control room at 4am ) electric seat controls , oil leaks .... but i love it especially on a cold morning when she starts straight away and i hit the heated seat switch . So now i have a work in progress , rolling project , that bloody landrover what have you ordered for it this week !??! (said wife ) plenty to tinker / fix / swear at in garage , parts are cheaper (Paddocks or ebay) labour is cheaper ( me ) so im quite happy really . now off out to stop sunroofs leaking . Phil :)

Just noticed im a junior member on this . i wasnt even a junior member in young farmers . and im nearly 37 ! could somebody ring my mum and ask her to pick me up please .:(

As for fixing leaking sunroofs....there is a Nobel Prize for the person who manages that one! Enjoy!!! :D :D :D

Check the rust spots
Inner front and rear arches, sills & boot floor
If these are ok you shouldnt go far wrong
Also check if its due a cambelt, and a good service probably wont hurt it
