Hello from the Bust2Built team

Hi All,

We (Alex and Lewis) are currently stripping, to rebuild our Defender 110 TD5. We are based in Kent and this is our first Big Defender project! We wanted to say hi and get involved with all you Land Rover veterans out there! We hope we can help here and there as well as lean on you when we need a hand.
Our Defender is currently stripped down to the chassis, with the engine removed and we will be cleaning it off for a full inspection in the coming days.
Let us know if you want any updates.

Welcome to the mad house, you'll like it round ere, put up a fred in the members vehicles forum and dive into the defender section for any technical questions you have.

I see it's a Td5, you putting something a bit fruity in there or just tidying it up and a chip tune?

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Will be a tidy up mainly but where we can a strengthening....engine will for now be a time job, along with a custom mani and intake. This is intended as our workhorse so it needs to be reliable.

Nice to see you've started a thread in the projects section.

Just so it doesn't become an answer and question section, it might be an idea to ask questions in the fender section

Wonder if an R380 would go in there, guess it would?

It is an R380, the lt77 went out with the 200tdi

Hi ! Actually the manifold isn’t warped, just took it off as we will be making a custom one ... gives me a head start. Like the look of your Defender! Gives us some ideas

it’s the R380 with the TD5, I believe the 5th gear ratio is different on the disco to the defender so we will be getting this swapped out as we would prefer it to be a bit higher In 5th

Cheers, no just thought on the photo the rear port looked a bit sooty that's all.
Are you getting a custom manifold for the intention of remapping / increased EGT?
