Evening everyone,

I've been hovering over the forums for a while now but never joined. Today's the day!

I'm hoping to buy a disco but my budget is not that high and I've not welded in years!

I've joined in the hope that some of you good folk will help me through the searching and selecting stage as well as enjoyment and tears in the future.

The disco will be used everyday for the commute to work, some motorway miles (not work related but just to the south coast to see family) and one day a bash at green laning.

So far I've decided I'd like to go for a diesel and have been looking at 300tdi's.

One that has caught my eye is this and I've checked the cambelt and tensioner have been done and the seller has the invoice.

If it's a cabbage then I'll carry on looking and if anyone has something to sell then i'll consider it.

My budget is aound £2k at the most but would hope to get some of the nice toys bolted on for that.

Anyway, happy that I've finally joined and excited about finding a landy!

£2k for a L reg disco is taking the **** & I don't care how many times they have it polished?? Also with that amount of kit on it's been green laned A LOT!!!

theres a good 300TDi 90 with bells and whistles available for not much more.

i assume the sunroof leaks quite badly

I reckon they've had the boot floor done and the welder has told em that sills inner wing arches footwells & body mounts are all on their way out anorl & they've decided to cut their losses.

Definately not interested in the sunroof as I know they leak!

Am I better off buying a standard disco for a decent price and adding the toys?

On a plus side can't wait to fit my safari Snorkel if it's gonna give me an extra 7 or 8mpg.

Yes & if you can get one without sunroof even better £750 should get a good L/M reg disco at £2k your into late 300tdi early TD5 territory.
