Hi all, just joined, scotties the name and the 110 defenders the game, except that I am a greenhorn on the electrics. Its supposed to be 24v so what happens if I plugs a sankey in with a 12v leccy system, do I go tomeet my maker prematurely. Any words of wisdom appreciated.

Thanks all, as they say, if you don't want to know somethin, ask somethin sumone won't know

if you plug a 12v device into a 24v source your going to blow fuses or fry wires

Dunno, theres a light on the dash with a battery symbol and 24v on it. Might be Nato or military standard specs. Theres a thing called STANAG or standard agreements which means all Nato forces equipment and armour can be used by another countries forces in an emergency :ie my British landrover battery will fit your Portugese Peccadillo or whatever.

Thanks for the info guys - dont feel so much of a spare one now.
If you plug a 12v system into 24v it will cook, obviously. But maybe the towing system runs off 12v? Get yer multimeter out I reckons............
