Hi, I'm new here, from New Zealand (for the last 5 years) and have picker up a Freelander TD4 2004 which was not running.
After replacing the HP pump and all injectors she ran like new for four months, well until yesterday. Now she keeps stopping or won't start. To get her to start today I disconnected the battery then reconnected it and she started. Interesting was I also got warning noises because the back window was open? Never heard them before.
I have read a lot of posts over possibilities about this radical starting problem and have decided to start with replacing the camshaft sensor. I removed the one I have to get the part number which is 2249320. But it seems this part no. is no longer available and is superseded with part 8510297 or NSC100890L. Does anyone have any information if this is correct. Every where I look for the cam sensor I only get the other part no and all the descriptions state it is for the TD4. Any light on the matter or what else could be wrong with my LR would be very much appreciated.
