Bought my 90 300tdi truck cab a year ago and have been learning to drive in it. Looking forward to doing some off road.

Hey welcome! looks a real good one you've got there. did you buy it so clean or have you been beavering away on it to make it so?

Hi and welcome,My three daughters all learned in my 90 TD [now 200] Two passed first time and the other on second attempt. Learn about how your Landy works and how to care for it,much on this site and in the manual [also available here] and it will stand you in good stead for a lifetime.

Bought it in Cornwall in good condition but have added chequer plate and rock sliders, other bits and bobs. Thanks guys

Does anyone know what the laws are on having seats in the back? Do you need a roll cage and seat belts? Thinking of getting a cover to make use of the space.

Doing my best to get my head around oil changes etc. Apparently if you can drive a landrover you can drive anything! 😊

I'm really hoping to add seats in the back, is that legal? Do I need a roll cage etc? Thanks for the welcome and kind input, really enjoying it!

Hello mate - lovely looking 90! And I wish I could have had one as my first car! :D

And as for seats in the back - its a long contested argument. If you have a search you'll find endless conflicting explanations lol.

Check you V5, see if it states how many seats the vehicle has... You'll be limited to that less you tell VOSA or DVLA.

If you worried about legality, ring VOSA or the DVLA or something like that and I'm sure they'll tell you.

If you're not worried, grab some side facing bench seats, and chuck some lap belts in there, make sure you put spreader plates on everything though, don't wanna pull the seatbelt bolts through your aluminium tub! Wouldn't worry about a roll cage, but I'd get some sort of a roof, less prying eyes, and looks 'normal' you'll have far less questions from plod. ;)

Oh and don't forget you'll have to tell insurance! :p

Thanks that's really helpful. Definitely need to make it legal! You know how the authorities are with young drivers. I will check but it probably would be until the summer that I would stick people in the back!
