Hello members of LandyZone,

Just last week I decided not to buy a Ford tipper and decided instead to buy my first Land Rover. I bought an X reg Hi cap, heavy duty 110 pickup with the Ifor williams on the back. I was well chuffed with my purchase and do not regret not getting a tipper at all.

I work as a tree surgeon and so needed something with the space to carry trees around with. I also work in forests so wanted something to go off road in.

I've had it down to a garage to get a few things done to it, brakes all changed, every single bit of them!

New tyres, I got Toyo AT

And the best bit was I had it chipped, now that part is amazing, what a difference to speed and fuel consumption.

I now have so, so many questions to ask. I have googled so much stuff, read the haynes manual - twice but still questions keep coming into my head, so I thought a forum would be the best place to start.

So, that's me in a nut shell, I'm off now to brows the threads, look at pictures, see what toys are for sale and start with some simple questions!!!

Im half Fifeish and cut tree.!!!!

Anyway if you like shoveling chip then the hicap is ok BUT it dont carry enough.
Im useing an old 2 door range which is currently undergoing conversion to box van i can blow chip in.
I have access to transit tipper and some days we fill it 3 times wiv chip and 3 times wiv logs.
Be caerfull not to get caught out as all trees are alot bigger than the look when they are on the ground.
