Hi All, I've just taken ownership of a 110 200 tdi as payment for some work I did for a mate.

Didn't really want a Landy, but I was doing him a favor. Any how, just driven it back to Brum from Sheffield and I am already in love!

I need a fair amount of work doing on it; windscreen wipers stopped working half way home, drivers side lock needs replacing, passenger door needs a new handle and the bonnet release needs replacing for a start, so can anyone recommend a good Landrover mechanic in North Birmingham (Sutton Coldfield)?

Looking forward to getting more involved with this thing!

Ed.

I love the fact that two posters have opposite cars to avatars - Defender11069 has Defender in his name but a Disco avatar, and TigerHunter (thats me) has a Defender avatar but drives a Discovery.

What, finally the two are blending into the Landy family?

Only took 15 years!

Welcome to the Forum.
I lost patience with the windscreen motor replacement and it ended up in Halfords repair centre - although there are pretty comprehensive guides on the forum on how to do this yourself. The door handle, door lock and bonnet release are pretty straightforward - thought about having a go doing it yourself, if you are going to own a Landrover ...... other than driving it, fixing it is all part of the experience :)

i have to remember not to wave at fender they look at me funny...:D:D

this is what ive just sold...:(

...sniff, brought a tear to my eye. You really do fall in love with these cars, don't you?

Having said that, I DO wave. I know Fender drivers look down their snorkels at Discos, (I can say that 'cos I was one of them) but Feck'em, it's time for this elitism to stop. Discos are every bit as much Landy's - in fact if it wasn't for the Disco, many Fender's probably wouldn't even exist today, and the green oval may very well be yet another British motor manufacturing memory.

My TD5 90 driving mate has been asking me when I'm going to bet a real Landy since I got my D2, but he suddenly stopped after I took him for a drive to the pub on Friday :D

These were my two Fenders (red 90)

Wow that's quite a line-up! If anyone's earned the right to Landywave at whoever they want to it's you ;)

I've had three other 4 x 4's but I'm only on Landy No 3.

I have had 7 Classic Mini's though! Last one was an absolute beaut, will dig up some pics.
