Hi everyone, my p38 has originally been an auto, someone at some point has changed it to manual, I have water coolant pipes going to the transfer box, coolant is leaking from a gap in the casing, my question is, does this need to be cooled ? Can I just link the coolant pipes together and bypass the box ? I'm only doing motorway work with this p38 about 100 miles, then it's parked up for 4 hours then driven back 100 miles. Would the transfer box over heat ? Are manual boxes cooler to run than auto's ? it would be the cheaper option than taking the box out, has anyone bypassed this and had any problems ? Might I suggest that you get over into the Range Rover section where you will find the true gurus and ask your question again.
But just before you go, a water cooled transfer box? That's a first for me on P38. I'll be intrigued to see what the others have to say.
Yes I will post up in the range rover section, but I wanted to post something up quickly as its in the garage and I wanted advice from people in case I was doing the wrong thing,I've just joined and it won't let me post stuff straight away for some reason, everyone I speak to says the same thing, water pipes ?? On a transfer box ?? Lol
