Hi Fella's
My father-in-law has bought himself a Rang Rover on a 2000 plate, he has told me that his battery keeps going flat and after replacing his old one with a new one the same thing has happened again, so he trickle charged it but it drained again over night! now I am not to bad with the spanners but not to good with the old electrics!! I was wondering if anyone on here could point me in the right direction to any obvious or common problems in relation to power drains?? One of my mates suggested glow plug relay may be sticking on? would check but cant find the bloody thing! Cheers and season's greeting.
Deano.

google p38 alarm rf and look out for the blue wire threads. he is probably near something that is interfering with the alarms radio frequencies and it is draining the battery...
oh and good luck with the rangie...

Usual problem is the RF receiver keeping the BECM awake, but as yours is a year 2000 it should have the new type RF receiver (for the key fob). the receiver is located under the right hand side trim in the boot, take the blue wire off and see if it makes a difference. You will have to hold the Key Fob close to the rear quarter glass to operate the locking.

Oh and welcome.

@ MHM: u should try reading up on the eac procedures... the ballast has her eye on a 2001 hse, thought i would start studying the known issues now ;)

aaah, but u seem to be rather prolific in the rangey sections... do u have secret desires you need to get off your chest, basingstizzle aint too far from me if you need a shoulder ;)
