Hi to everyone-just signed up, heres to many an hour squandered on here!
Bought a 1996 Defender 90 at end of January as a Silver Wedding present for my wife and I (or thats what I tell her!). I have just fitted some boost alloys with Conti Cross Contact 235/85 tyres and found they rub on full lock. Do I need to fit spacers or is there something else I should be doing? Cheers and sorry if this is the wrong forum for questions.

Should have said, there is a lock stop adjuster bolt on BOTH sides. Get someone to work the steering while you adjust them, makes the job easier/quicker.

Turbo man
Not turning the wheel so far works too!
I found that out today! Saves getting hands dirty!
I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities to be under there working eh?

Thats all I do. The stops are set for my Insas on modulars. I also have Fedimas on standard rims. When I put them on they would hit the arms, but you get so used to it after a few days they never do. :)
They will nowhere near hit at speed, its only when parking and tight manouevres anyway.;)

Precision and exactness matter, so please allow me to edify.
I was not referring to your tyres and rims. I was focused upon the anniversary celebration.
If you insist upon delivering presents upon such occasions, the wimmins tend to begin to expect repeated tokens and mometos..
Avoid that all costs. Welcome.

Dunno? New set of tyres for the next anniversary? ;) :D
