So, it's more a reintroduction opposed to an introduction. Some of you may be able to work out who I am already by my username... For those that don't, my name is Ed Barrett, I used to work with Landyzone as a representative for an insurance broker, Adrian Flux. I stood down from this position late in late September in preparation for my move to America in the new year.

Currently I'm not looking for a car, after selling my 350Z I no longer need a mode of transport due to my departure from the country. I will be spending a year in Titusville, Florida, whilst completing my helicopter pilot training. But after seeing a few posts, I thought that I'd pop over and keep those who are interested up to date on my story and progress as it materialises.

So that's me in a nutshell... Any questions about stud I know about, holla at me, it's not much but two subjects I can cover reasonably well, Flying and Insurance.

Peace out y'all!

:lol::welcome2::clap2:

You will have fun in Titsville............ You will have to take up fishing. They have some darn good fishing there. If you get a chance go for a few airboat rides and if you can go for a night time gator hunt.

SWEET! For some reason I was thinking you were on about obtaining a PPL(H) via an R22 or R44 :D sorry! Didn't know you had progressed to proper turbine-powered helis.

Sadly, I only fly model helis.. :(

Haha no sweat man! I've been awarded a scholarship by Bristow helicopters, unbelievably lucky!

Model helis are so hard to fly!!

Especially when hovering nose-in; apart from collective, all the controls are reversed. However, flying the Raptor 30 (my largest heli) around like an aeroplane, so it's constantly moving forwards, is not too bad :D as are basic aerobatics (non of the 3D stuff for me, just loops, rolls, stall turns, pirouettes)

As in the full-size, training, practice and muscle memory are the key, although you can only see and hear what the model is doing, not feel it through the seat ;)

Best of luck to you Ed.
I'm a helicopter engineer myself and rest assured the flight safety culture is second to none from an engineering perspective.

The recent problems don't bother me at all Alex, I still maintain the opinion that flying is the safest mode of transport. Plus if I get SAR, then ill be on brand new Helo's so even more confidence.

Cheers
