a few weeks ago I had a problem with the steering on my D2 a quick look underneath soon found the culprit in a knackered balljoint on the track rod, replaced it with a lemforder one and everything went smooth, now the steering is stuttering while trying to turn left and really heavy (sometimes like there is no power steering at all) when going to the right, today I cracked all the balljoints and checked that both wheels were swivelling free on there ball joints and they were. I am assuming it is either the PAS pump or the steering box that have gave up is there a way to tell exactly which one it is.
PS steering seems to be fine while the vehicle is up on ramps but put it back on its wheels and you need arms like garth to turn to the right .

Tyre pressures, check steering fluid levels, bleed steering box especially if the fluid is low.
