heating??

I have a question,as its got cold i have needed the air con and heating.
although it warms up when i go to turn it to demist the front window it not only will not click to demist and stay there but no air comes from either side.
What i am looking for is possible causes and fixes.

2003 1.8 Freelander 1.masai mara-5 door!

If the heater diverter knob doesn't turn full it's full rotation, then either the cable outer has moved in it's bracket, or the diverter flap isn't moving correctly, but the cable issue is pretty common.

How hard is the fix?
is it a full dashboard out as some are buried or........?

For someone who knows the Freelander, it's an easy fix, generally no need to remove the dash. The diverter cable is visible from the driver's foot well.
