Hi M8-ts

Quite new on the forum, and new proud owner of Freelander 1 2.0td.
It's my first time a have a Landy and im amassed of the jeep and it's performance.
As you can see in the title, my heater/cooling unit is not illuminating.
Can i replace the bulbs by my self or i need to visit a garage?

I will appreciate is somebody shares his experience and maybe even upload some pic.

Thanks to all and hope to chat more in future

Regards
Zoran

Yes you can replace the bulbs yourself disconnect the cables and wiring and a set of long nose pliers as they are sunk pretty deep in the control unit but pretty straight forward

Hello there pal.
Please introduce yourself, it's on the front page of the forum.
Fiddly job but possible, but you will get more replies once you've said hello.
Mike

Hi Mike,

You are absolutely right.
I didn't new about "introduce your self" page. As you can see...i already did that :D

why remove whole panel? just remove bulbs after front face off.

I understand you...but do i need some special tools to remove the front panel of the control unit?? Can you please upload some pictures and tutorial how to do that...i don't want to damage the plastic.

Thanks

Yip, you need screwdriver. This is the old Land Rover, not new all in one new Rangey ;)

Pull out all knobs (grab them and pull it), you will find two bolts under them, remove bolts and front face of panel will be free. Just take it out.

Hi Winu,

I just pulled the knobs and noticed the screws. Tomorrow if i have more time i will try to change the bulbs. As soon as i succeed i will upload my info and some pic.

Stay in touch

Done this job last year...very easy to do, as already said just pull out the three knobs, remove the screws and there you can see the three little bulbs which can be replaced without needing any special tool. :)

Hiya, sorry to butt in but this thread had reminded me that my hazard warning light button doesn't illuminate, how would I get to the bulb for that one please?

Try on this link. There is a small explanation.

Land Rover Workshop Manuals > Freelander Service Procedures > HEATING AND VENTILATION > REPAIRS > Switch - recirculation control

As you can see from the first pic. You need to pull the knobs and on the left and right knob you can find screws. Unscrew them, and gently remove the face cover. After that..follow picture no.2 from the explanation. Try to pull out the hazard light front plastic. and you can see the bulb.

I'm still new on the forum so i don't now how to send you picture :) hehhe
HELP !!!

If you need extra info..please let me now

Nicely done pal.
Use a picture hosting site like photo bucket, for your pictures.
There is a how too on the community page I believe.
