heater only cold

Bit of a pronlem with the heater in my p38, it only works on the screen vents and it only blows luke warm whatever temp I set it at. The mechanic at work thinks it might be the control panel as it also has a habbit of displaying the outside temp at whatever it wants and not was it is.
Could it be the control panel and if so any ideas what the cost is, as I don't want to spend a wad of cash and still have the problem.

Blend Motors? I have a similar issue where the air is only directed to the face/footwell areas - three servo motors operate the system to control temp, distribution and something else (?!) - my distribution servo is kaput

But i've got the cheque-book symbol on the screen - is it showing on yours? as for the outside temp having a mind of its own, could be the sensor gone?

As for the motors, i was quoted 150 for new ones (all three) or 75 for second hand - either way 150 to fit them. I'e just learned to live with it as is...

All the heat in the footwells is okay (really though a little goes everywhere) but no heat is a bit more of a issue...

I've all but drivers side blend for sale-brand new and If you are not a million miles from somerset=collect

Its almost a year since i changed the o-rings in the heater matrix - still not sure its been long enough to tackle all that (and more) again!! Oh, and i need 5 new tyres for the MOT in 2weeks!
