Heater Motor

Went over a bump in my Rangie and there is now a very loud noise from the heater fans. I presume that the motor is at fault which must mean that the dashboard has to come out. Has anyone done his job - what is the best way.

You shouldnt have to take the dash out to get the the motors, do you have classic or P38? If P38, each motor is easy to get at. Remove shroud under steering column, (large plastic section) and you will see right hand motor marked with a large VALEO sticker. On passenger side, remove glovebox and lower plastic shield to get good access to left hand motor. You can reach it by leaving the glove box in situ but it makes the task a lot harder
