Heater fan blowing air OUT of wingtop vent

I know you’ve said that you can feel the air with your hand, but are you 100% sure it’s blowing out? I only ask that because I tried mine today and yes, with my hand over the intake grille, it did feel like air was blowing over it from within. But I grabbed a sheet of tissue and popped it over the grille and it was nearly sucked in! ( alright, not quite, but you get the point ). The movement of air past my hand gave a cooling sensation which felt the same as if air was being ‘blown’ past.
Apologies if you’ve already confirmed this, just checking!

I know - I’ve doubted myself as well. Have been out and checked again that I’m not imagining it. But, I’m going to do exactly that test tomorrow before I start takings things off.

Right. Humble pie time. Big slices of humble pie.
I did exactly this today and had exactly the same result - paper sucked onto the vent. NO air getting blown out of vent.
Had the vent off and the tube to the fan out. Fan is going the right way round.
So - you were all right - I should have listened to you all from the start

Still have cr#p heater - but it’s defintely not that.

Thanks to everyone who’s offered advice and support - much appreciated.

Everyday’s a learning day! Glad it’s ‘sorted’, whilst not the best heaters in the world, when set up correctly they’re not too bad really. Might still be worth having a look around the system to see if you can improve anything.

Agree with bluedog333, it's the best way to learn. Shame though, as I was looking forward to learning how the air was going both ways through the duct at the same time. ;):p

I’ve got my heater box out at the minute, will fit it back in tomorrow. Fan was blowing but not a lot of air inside. I’ve noticed a few things.
Footwell/windscreen control wire sleeve was sliding in clamp. So it wasn’t fully closing or opening the footwell vent. Now sorted.
Heater box to bulkhead gasket/sponge was a weird shape, probably leaking air into the engine bay. Will seal up better tomorrow and re-fit.
Few gaps in the box itself where the panels and joined (sealed now).
There was some ****e inside, but nothing that would have drastically restricted flow.
I think it’s just sealing the box to the bulkhead on mine that’s needed.
