I found out yesterday that the cable that connects to the heater control on my Series 3 is broken at the control end.

This is the cable that connects the Cab / Demister selector switch to the gate valve.

Is there any simple way to get at the valve without having to remove the instrument panel etc.?

Thanks for any info.

the levers and cable are under the endplate/cover of the dashboard (drivers end), from memory 4 screws and it's off with the cables/levers exposed

no idea where to get at the vent flaps

If it's the wire to the valve on the engine you can pull the inner wire out and feed the new one through the outer.
If it's the directional flaps you will have to strip the lower dash facia off.

To resurrect an old thread. Can anyone provide a part number and correct name, for the cable connecting the lower dashboard vent flaps to the control?
