I'm seriously considering a heated wind screen for my Series... i've had a sudden perge to show it a lot of TLC recently, it's having the chassis all welded up, roll hoop welded in (finally) and I've just bought it new LED lights all round :)

Anyway, anyone actually got one fitted? Is it worth the expense? £170 all in, I need new windscreens anyway (note for future, protect screen when doing large amounts of grinding near it) so thinking it makes sense?

No experience on a series but I love mine on my Mondeo and the RRC has one too (just as well as the blower is seized!).

I would think twice about getting a new car without one as its been very useful as my Mondeo is a diesel and takes a while to warm up.

How do you find it at night Al? The works transits have them and they're awesome in the morning but a complete arse at night as they make the oncoming lights of cars go all fuzzy, veen worse if it's raining. Really fatiguing.

I've got one in the 109,
it's great

no complaints re fuzzyness at night BUT for it to work properly you have to make sure the front vents are firmly closed.

Being totally serious I do find night driving a pain but never twigged it was the heated screen!
Yeah its not great with oncoming headlights as they kind of have a dazzling halo to them
Stupid me

I'm pretty sure my mate got his through the series 2 club when they put in a job lot order to get them cheap.
Makes a big difference in the morning, I don't know about the night time.

I tend to wear specs when driving so at night everything's got a flippin halo!

at the moment though I am thankful for the heated screen, the 88 doesn't have one and there is a lot more swearing in the mornings!

Interested also-have you got a link to the all in £170 price?

See below :)
Not sure if your price is from here or not, but have you checked out Ricky Evans Motorsport?

Yes, that is who i was looking at - they're based in Tamworth and I pass there every now and then so can pick one (or more up if anyone wants one?)

Yes, they did, just over £100 all in too, just couldn't justify it at the time, but, it was an amazing deal.

Think i'm convinced, i'll wait till he's back on my drive, dropped him off last night for the first stage of his TLC - chassis welding and roll bar installation.

My LED lights and some powerful new headlights have arrived too :D

is this problem at night only when the heated screen is turned on, or is it all the time presumably to whatever is in the screen to generate the heat?

I could not afford one when series 2 offer was on, but i believe people where buying a pair between them and just fitting one. My landie has been lent to a mate for a couple of months or more so I may miss the bad weather and do it next spring.

Yeah i was in two minds between both or just drivers side... Maybe drivers side this winter and passenger next.

Roll cage is being welded in today :D
