I'm giving my series a birthday and a heated screen seems like a good plan as we all know the demister vents have all the power of a dying asthmatics breath. Any ideas where to go for the most cost effective solution? I see Devon 4x4 quote about £158 including wiring kit.

I saw them at Billing last year at about £100. i think they're made in Sweden or Finland, certainly Northern Europe. Very much like the ones fitted to Fords, fine mesh.

UroGlas - Remanufacture

I got a set from here, they will give you a discount if you belong to a club SII. for example, i bought a pair and sold one to a friend, so we had one each (and 1/2 the cost) and i put it on the drivers side, the dynamo is good enough for the one, but just de-mist it then turn it off and drive off, but you could put a wolf alternator on, more than enough power then, they are in my opinion great in the winter, if you tend to use your SII ALL YEAR ROUND, some use it as a hobby car, and DON'T use it all your round just in the summer months, then get in to there Euro box, i call them fair weather drivers!! (i am one of these lol )
