Looking through the ads for another freelander I don't see any Td4 HSE models with the heated front screen or a fuel burning heater that are common on the SE.
I thought the HSE would have everything on the SE and more
Does anyone know if they were fitted to the HSE in any particular year or was it never standard fit on that model?

Yes mine does :D

I have both heated front screen and FBH. Also fittted are heated leather seats, Satnav/Radio/Multichange CD, rear parking sensors, EW all round and bumper Foglights

The options for the windscreen are usual inlaid wires OR a ceramic heater. Fuses for which are located in a seperate dual block in engine compartment.

Thanks for the confirmation that at least some have them Skynet, I have looked at some ebay ads for other td4 HSEs and I have now found that up to 2005 models have the heated screens as the switches are visible in photos (probably have FBH too then)

Sods law strikes again though as I am after a later one, 06-56 reg, and none seem to have them. I want to move up from our current SE which has them to a HSE and was hoping they were included in the spec since they've been so useful. :(

The PCT heater may well compensate when de-icing the windscreen if they can deliver some warmth the instant the car is started. I need to confirm they are fitted to Uk spec models in lieu of a FBH in 2006.

I have a 55 plate HSE. It has the ceramic type fitted. Its not too bad but I would prefer a proper heated screen. They must have been running out of bits of something cos mine hasn't even got a cig lighter socket in the back but my x plate 1.8GS did!!!!

The heated seats are nice though!

Strange how many similarities remained even years after ties were severed with Rover Group. When the Freelander 1 was facelifted at the end of 2003 the styling ideas were very similar to those on the MG Rover range done around the same time!

Yeh I noticed the lack of rear cig lighter and ashtray yesterday when looking at an 06 Td4 Sport. It was otherwise equipped the same as my SE but without the FBH and heated front screen. The rear 12v supply has been handy for my daughters DVD player. I agree it appears that they were exhausting supplies of parts or just plain cost cutting when later cars have less in them.

I think I've been put off the HSE model now, the Sat Nav is very basic without a screen and the vacant slot in the dash looks worse than the 6cd player that is in the SE. Virtually all the 55/06 ones I've seen have the three spoke wheels that look like they belong on an old XR3i so I'm trying to decide which is the next best model to buy.

And don't car salesmen **** you off with their crap valuations and bull****. Tw@t offered me £500 below trade for my car with FSH, average miles, clean straight and tidy against one priced at £300 over full retail which was tatty to say the least, had ripped leather and needed a load of paintwork??

Chaser - I can concur on the dealers. I went to look at a 55 SE for the wife yesterday. 9 grand plus extras - and the only service in the book was 1st service - it had 55K on the clock! Engine looked like it had an oil leak at some point - blocked Crank case breather?? Cooland was about 2 inch over max in the expansion tank.

No ash tray or cig light in the rear of that too or a heated screen.
