On the HEVAC controller, I am having button trouble (soon to be fixed...) but since I don't have the manual in front of me and also since I am a bit of a div when it comes to some of the buttons on my car (the best one being my AC not working until I discovered I was pressing "off" instead of on).

So, I assumed the Prog button under the speed controller on the HEVAC unit was to blow full speed onto the windscreen, but a mate said it was for a heated screen....

So, am I an actual div (I just KNOW I'm gonna regret this :p ) and it is a heated screen button (which would explain why it does nothing) or am I correct and it is supposed to be for blowing air to clear the screen quicker?

*awaits many div agreements*

:D

The button is for demisting as soon as possible.
It switches on front and rear screen heaters, heated seats and blows air at the windscreen

So, if I bought a heated screen (the car wasn't fitted with one when I bought it) and checked fuses, etc, then it should be plugged in and work?!

I imagine if I remove the wipers & plastics, the wiring will be there?

Damn and blast! All this time.... Would be handy in this weather o_O

The heated front screen is a lot more complicated than the rear one. Has timers and over heat protection built in and uses an awful lot of power.
Clears the windscreen much quicker than the rear window
My switch works on the rear screen too.

When i got a new screen ,the guys in the windscreen place ,sprayed some glass cleaner on the outside it steamed off ,to prove it worked,....That was the second one the first one didnt work on one side .Quite common so they said .

I figure it broke at one point and some cheapskate fitted a standard glass... I need some replacement foam bits for under my plastics at the bottom of the screen, not to mention find a leaking pipe that drains the AC condensate onto my passenger side carpet instead of under the car so I'll see if the wires are feasible.

The list goes on and on o_O that's what we love about them

Ha ha ha,not much worse than any of my cars. I like to replace stuff to bring them up to spec and then I usually punt them... I do like George though so I just want to bring her back to factory standard...except the headlamps, they were pish! The LED's are awesome.

The program button turns on front heated screen, rear heated screen and directs warm air to front screen. Turns fans up automatically when water temp reaches a certain point.

Ha ha ha, arse! :p

The fookin handbook was (is) in the car and I was (is) in the hoose! My problem is 3 flights of stairs, crutches and many broken bones....

But much easier to ask smashing people on here :);):(:confused::cool::p:D:eek::oops::rolleyes:o_O

Dont you have a lift?

Lift! We're lucky to even have stairs!! Makes it a bit awkward to get out to the car, but once I am out I try to get everything done in that day so I can muddle my way back up and rest. My foot aches, my leg aches and my ribs ache as expected. However, no one seems to have taken my knee into account! I told the surgeon when I went for my checkup and he diagnosed a damaged tendon & fluid on my knee. Approx six weeks to heal, so we'll call it 10 or so as I'm diabetic.... Paracetamol are my friends. You don't really rate them until you have constant pain like this. Ibuprofen for the irritated soft tissues. 2 of each for breakfast, last me a good while, but if I'm out & about, I need them every 4 hours because my foot & leg start to swell.

Anyway, I digress. Right now, off to help tow a mates car to the garage for a replacement starter. He's going to get a lesson in attaching an "A" frame  My mate who owns the garage is opening up just for me today & told my broken down mate it'll cost him a little extra (he's supposed to be with his family so it's only fair).

Later, visiting wife's Lithuanian friends where there will be a big spread, plenty Christmas "spirits" and love & laughter :)

Win win all round :D

Crimbo greetings all ;)

Sorry buddy.. I hope you achieve all you set out to do today!

Ha ha ha...or should that be ho ho ho, none taken Mark, don't feel bad ;)

I did put the manual in my pocket and did you know how to change the rear wiper blade? I didn't, but the manual told me :D

Now I need to change the whole arm as it's seized solid :( No way to lift it off the rear screen, but there was just enough flex in it to change it. Need to get in to the motor to change the rubber on the spindle as it leaks when washing the car... A job for next year methinks.

Sitting on my arse now contemplating the Old Golden Hen or Old Speckled Hen or whisky or.....:p

Grrrrr, Dr Tomatin is the best. He's only 12, but an excellent doctor :D although his 25 year old brother is better :p:D
