is it possible and easy to swap a 2000 year headlights for the newer revised 2002-2004 headlights?

Yes you can. It's not a straight swap but with a bit of effort it can be done.
And them some scrote will come along and nick them.

Don't bother as they are pretty expensive and tend to get nicked.

The cheap ones you find were quote possibly taken off another car.

And yes I am after a new pair as the mounting lugs are breaking on mine. One of mine is heat welded together.
