Headlights staying on

P38 2.5 rangerover 1999 headlights staying on when engine running also no windows work or door locks any advice please

DRL can be enabled/disabled via diagnostics unless its something that just started to happen

Problem just started everything will work if I leave battery disconnected for abit

Any messages on the dash?

Also might be worth sniffing round the fusebox.

Lights are switched on by the BeCM on inputs from the controls and/or BeCM settings (one of which is dipped beam headlights as DRL) as @kermit_rr says.
If you DIDN'T set this setting then it either thinks the rotary switch is calling for headlights or the BeCM settings are on the wobble due to "low-volts"?
What's the battery voltage like when:
1. The car is cold.
2. The car is running with everything on and engine at 2,000RPM.

Hi yes I'm beginning to wonder if its the battery as I charged it up and then started car ,locks worked, lights stayed off for a few seconds then started to go on and off im wondering if voltage of battery is poor

If its new battery time do not go for anything other than an MF31 120ah 1000cca.

Check the output from the alternator too

Havnt used an amp meter b4 so some advice on how to check battery would be greatful

Set multimeter at 20v check battery voltage with probes,red to positive black to negative. Start engine reading should be 14v+ at 2000revs with lights and heater on.

Measure battery voltage with the engine running, no accessories turned on and again with everything turned on. Both values should be between 13 and 15 volts.

Just one other thing I did take both battery terminals off while engine was running and lights stayed on

I can't recommend disconnecting the battery while the engine is running, you risk all sorts of damage.

Also have a srs fault ,abs fault,electronic stability warning light fault to how to i fix these
