Hi,

The dipped beam on my 97 300tdi is next to useless. I've tried disconnecting the dim/dip resistor but it's made little or no difference. Do I need to do something else besides just unplugging it? surely by just unplugging it the circuit is broken...
Main beam is fairly good - any suggestions?

Thanks, Stoford

Not a clue, but my dipped beam is pretty good! I'd check condition of the bulb holder and wiring connectors, mine are regularly immersed in muddy water so I clean them regularly too ..

Dim dip only works on the side light position anyway, if you dont want it just 'pull' the plug on the resister that positioned on the rear engine bulkhead.

I've found nothing wrong with the headlamps but the tinted windscreen doesn't help so I change the bulbs to Halfords Brilliance car bulb which use Xenon gas which are a lot brighter, so bright my headlamp guards now show shadows on the road.

Also check your headlamp beam adjustment.

I changed the bulbs on mine to Ring XenonUltima and personally I think it made a huge improvement.

nothing wrong with my standard head lights... except i get flashed by 90% of people i pass at night :( ... they are a bit on the bright side :/
