How badly striped is it? I mean is it just a little pin stripe or is it the full tartan crosshatching? You could drill it and heli-coil it but I reckon the easiest way would be to paint it so it's a plain bolt and you'll no longer need to get a striped one out.
weld a nut to it
or one of them stud extactor thingiesoooo the head on the bolt is fooked?
Will it tap round with a centre puch?
fair enough ian, just the suggestion of new engine needed made me go EHHH!!
And tis way past my bedtime![]()
IF yer can get a pair of stilsons on it, thats probelly yer best bet as head bolts tend to be tight which will A/ snap yer stud extractor thing, B/ require so much heat yer likely to fook yer already delikate head C/ be so tight that the hammer and punch approach will just fook, it even more
if yer can weld a nut on to it without putting too much localised heat into it that might also work
It is a freelander 'lump...might be the only solutionnew engine! hah! can't get one bolt out so he needs a new injun apparentlysome mothers do have em!
then get rid of it an by a disco tdi
