Hi all,

So yeah my indicators do not work but the hazards do.

All was working fine up until yesterday when i had an alarm and immobiliser fitted. I have called the guy up and he said he will have a look but not until next week and i leave the country for 3 months on monday. so was just wondering if there is anything quick i can try?

I have read other threads about the relays etc, i had the dash off today and couldnt see any loose wires at the back of either the hazard switch or relay behind the centre fuse box.

When i put it all back the indicators worked when i re started the car and then as soon as i went to use them to turn out of a road they didnt! doh!

Im really convinced there is a loose crimp or connection somewhere but i have no idea where.

I couldnt see or get far enough down behind the clocks to check the whole loom, so i was wondering if any one can tell me where and if there are any joins between the stalk and the hazard relay.

Bought and looked in the haynes manual and it dosent help that the wiring is a totally different colour than in the manual.

Sorry for the waffle, hope i didnt over complicate it.

Any help appreciated.

Matt

no they werent, i think i can see where your going.

Ive asked him to come back to sort it, and he is, i just wondered if there was something i could do, or if it was an easy fix thats all.

Ill have to get my old man to wait in at my house next week for the alarm guy if not.

If you touch it he'll blame you for the faulty wiring. Get him back pronto and dont pay him any more to sort it. Tell him a week is unacceptable as you need to use the vehicle and he has left it in an unroadworthy condition.

Where did you find this "alarm installer" who leaves without the system actually working? Sounds like a real professional.

right oh,

i think i will just leave it, i dont want to pay for an auto electrician to come out to sort it. ive used one before and he was a pain in the hole.

The alarm was installed by GAP security, my insurance company recommended them

Too be fair, when the alarm arms and disarms it works of the hazard switch though. Right? i suppose he wouldnt have thought to check the indicators?!

While i had the dash off today i also realised all the screw holes(is that a proper description)! inside the dash and for the heater controls are all smashed, it was held on with gaffa. looks like ill need a new instrument pod and what not aswell!

Thanks

Matt
