My mate managed to get him bobtailed rangie v8 to slide down a steep hill and end up in a small stream on are shoot ground, no way it was coming out under its own power so i got a phone call for help.

Any way got there all set up was a fair old bank he had gone down so winch out and doubled back though a snatch block, all was going well till half way up my fooking hawse fairlead decided to break and going flying unluckly for my mate it came down on his windscreen somewhat smashed it.

Its not like there was that much presure on it as i was on the top of the bank and was not being draged towards him, Not very well made for a £30 Fairlead.

Anyway by the time it snaped he was most the way out so just pulled him the rest of the way with a strap, and the worst of it all is i forgot my camera

i take it that was the bottom of the fairlead?

Might be a 1 off, not seen this before. Maybe worth going for a stainless steel version or sticking with a roller fairlead for strength.

shame.

yep it was the bottom of the fairleed that went hit a rock that was under the landy then went flying, I have put my old roller fairlead back on now as i trust it

I'd get onto the shop, they shouldn't go like that ..might be a bad batch of them!

If the roller has been used with steel rope make sure you sand the individual rollers down as any slight burr will eat into Synth. line. worth checking, dont want your line snaping next do we!
