May be worth paying the premium price tag if you can negotiate a warranty deal make sure you will be happy with the manual box :decision:

Thanks chaps,

Found a LRO buyers guide on the forum!
What sort of price should i be looking at for a good 95-96 model?
Figured the price quted would be a little high but not sure how much?

Cheers

Going with manual for economy, got an auto diesel at the moment and fuel costs are not good on my shunt into work!

Price might be high for year, but £2.5k isn't a lot of money for the car you get assuming everything works. If everything does work AND you could screw a one year warranty out of him then it would be a bargain!! (assuming the warranty was a decent one and covered the air suspension and electrics)

I wouldn't touch a manual, the diesel is not suited to manual and the clutch is very heavy. I would expect to pay £1500.

I test drove an auto and didn't like it, felt sluggish then just looked at manuals, but I think it may of just been that particular auto , when I get round to buying another I will go auto

They take some getting used to due to the throttle action, go pretty well when you boot them though. Old oil in the box doesn't help.

My clutch isn't heavy! Are you sure it isn't after beer it felt heavy? Pensioner's droop, maybe? I love my manual. Goes better than the auto IMO, apart from steep hill starts when towing.

For £2,500 it'd better be perfect. Why's the leather boot hanging off the gear-stick? Gearbox issues? Beware the selector shift issues as they're a bugger to fix.

Did the DSE not have fog-lights on the front as standard or was that later years?

Manuals had fogs, autos did not

That one is a manual! Conversion?!

@TCubed: I wouldn't risk it. I've a vague memory the manual box is within about 10-15% of its max rating. James Martin would know better. Think the 4.6 auto gearbox is probably your best bet if you're chipping it.
