So I've been looking round at FL2 as a replacement for the Mondeo ( dont need to replace it but the mondey was bought quick after my last one was written of and this one leaves me cold) now my neighbours 07 plate FL2 is on 198,000 miles and has some rust in rear arches on the front edge near the sill where the arch linder doesn't cover the metal which for the age and miles can pretty much be accepted

But looking round ive noticed that newer ones also seems to be affected with the dreaded tinworm including facelift models with vastly lower miles

Poll to try to figure out if there are years more prevalent to rust than others

They came with trim on originally to cover the edge which itself gets grotty and traps dirt and moisture on a sharp metal edge where the paint will be thinner and will ultimately flake off.
My 2009 hasn't got the trims on any more and the rust is only slight on the surface so I'm going to sort it before the winter...
