ive got a 90 with +5's all round, its got a 2" lift (bearmach 175Ib springs front),extended bump stops.the back ends fine but the front end keeps bottoming out when off roading, ive got a winch on the front end so got it into my head that i'd have to buy some stiffer front springs, but i got talking to a bloke while off roading the other day who said that the terrafirma +5's are prone to bottoming out when on the front and said i should put +2's on the front instead, has anyone else ever had this problem as dont want to go buy new springs if its the shocks and vice versa

My mate runs them on his 90 and doesn't have a problem but he doesn't have a winch. The shocks do have inbuilt bumpstops which should prevent damage but have you considered fitting +2 inch shock turrets?, That way the axle will hit the chassis bumpstop before the shock bottoms out.

i thought about the +2" shock turrets, but if your mate doesnt have a problem its got to be my springs, ive got a scorpion racing winch bumper and goodwinch tdsi so there's a good bit of weight, think i'll stick with my original plan and get some stiffer springs first,if that doesnt sort it i'll get some extended turrets, thanks for the reply

ive got +5 terrafirma all round with terrafirma med springs on the rear and ****part yellow heavy duty on the front, dont have any bottoming issues and i have heavy duty winch bumper and winch

have you got extended bump stops?wondering if i should try it with mine off first

i fitted extended bump stops a few months after fitting the suspension only reason was with standard bump stops i was loosing a rear spring when 1 wheel was pushed into the arch and the other side was on full articulation

yeh i know what you mean, ive got 33 1/2" tall and 11.5" wide tyres so ive got to have extended bump stops or i'll rip my arches to bits, ive had to fit qt arches as it is,think i'll try the stiffer springs first
