.... a twin rear shock setup for a defender? I've seen turrets for the front to take two shocks on each side but can't find anything similar for the rears.

Have just fitted +2 " springs all round but can't find anyone doing heavy duty longer shocks. Am fairly often fully loaded and a few people have said that conventional shocks might not take the abuse weight wise.

Other option is -2" shock mounts but they look real flimsy.

Ive got the -2" shock mounts at the rear of my defender and regulary have in the region of a tonne in the rear, also do a fair bit of recreational offroading and they've never given me any grief. Ive got pro comp shockers all round and if i remember rightly they have +3" of travel over a standard shocker (correct me if im wrong)!!
