Have a search on here. You will probably find everything you need to know about glow plugs

I'd say glow plugs fowled, does your glow heater light come on for about 5 seconds when you turn on the ignition but before turning to start the engine (yellow coil light) make sure you let the light stay on then when it's gone out start straight after (you probably know this already so sorry!)

If the light doesn't come on or stay on for a few seconds then it could be your glow plug relay.

Hope this helps

Ive got the L series and the auto electrician told me that theres no need to allow the plugs to warm on mine they dont work lime that anymore?
But if struggling let come on and go out 3 or 4 times to get them hot, also filters change makes a world of diff..

New plugs - turn key straight away from cold no probs

Before I changed them I had to wait a few seconds.

my glow heater light comes on then goes out after I have ben for a run and is fully heated up it is still hard to start

When's the last time the fuel pump belt was replaced? Timing is very critical on l series

I also agree with the servicing. I believe the fuel filter should be changed more often than it states in the book.

my newer one started to become slow to start and when it did it smoked ,so I change the glow plugs and that was better ,but then my battery failed and I renewed it , and now WOW it starts a lot quicker and no smoke at all, so I am wondering if your battery is starting to fail it is that time of the year where they do fail after standing all night in the cold, hope this helps
