Hard Brake Pedal in my Defender TD5 2004

Hi, I'm having trouble with my brakes. The brake pedal became very hard. I believe that it may be the brake booster, however I don't know how to validate this.
I live in Mexico and there are no Defenders sold here and in the Land Rover dealership they don't have experience with any Defender.
Can you help?

It sounds like brake vacuum pump to me. With the engine running remove the vacuum pipe from the brake servo and put your finger over the end. If there is no suction then it is the pump.
