Happy New Year to all.

May 2024 be a good one you you and your Freelander.

Sparklers are quite special to our family. Back in the 70's my nan used to make Christmas crackers at her kitchen table. I always remember the piles of cardboard she used to fold into the boxes, sheets of clear plastic for the tops and glue, plus of course the bits to make the crackers... and the string tied to the table with a bit of cardboard tied to it as a handle use to squash them into shape.

1 of the 'gifts' that used to go into the crackers was a sparkler. When she became ill and could no longer make the crackers, everything went back to who ever employed her, but a box of the sparklers was kept. At first, they would be used quite often, but when the numbers began to run low, they brought on a new meaning.

Today there are still a few left and one is used to celebrate special family occasions. The most recently used was at the funeral for my mum to celebrate her life.
