Hi looking for some new tyres for my 1997 discovery.
Been through many searches trying to find the best tyre 50/50 road / farmers fields.

Have found these: HANKOOK TYRES / 4X4 / HANKOOK RF10 DYNAPRO ATM HANKOOK RF 10 - 235/70R16 107T XL TL :: £74.60 :: 4x4 Tyres - SUV Tyres - All Terrain Tyres - Off Road Tyres - 16" :: R16" - 235/70/16, 235/70 R 16 ::_

Or would i need something with a more aggressive tread pattern??

Cheers
Daz

I would say you need something slightly more aggressive for field use i'm running hankook mt an use them on the road

I have Hankook Dynamic MT RT01 245/75R16 tyres on mine. They're pretty good off road & fine on road I reckon!

Hard to find the RT01 version any more and I think the RT03 is slightly more aggressive.

Still not decided which tyres to replace mine with though as I do a lot of road miles!

Field asin?? Stubble field/Cattle field or ploughed field? For driving on a stubble field or a cattle field they would be fine... Ploughed fields no.. But why you would want to drive on a ploughed field in a landy is beyond me lol

I take it if your driving on farmers fields that you are a farmer/land owner (or a friend of)? Not just some townie out for some 4 wheeled fun? (No disrespect to yourself or anyone - it does happen though, and it's a PITA - aswell as trespassing and criminal damage!)

I've got the Dynapro ATMs on my 98 Disco, and I do a lot of road and field driving (not trespassing...I live in Cumbria and my folks have 3 farms, so I have to do a lot of field driving to check fences, hedges and clear the fallen trees/crud, etc.) I've found the Hankooks to be spot on...really quiet on the roads and plenty grippy for the fields. It's a good balanced tyre for my uses, and not too pricey.
At the end of the day tho', it's up to personal preference what tyres you choose.

Well i decided against the Hankook tyres in the first post as i do need something with a bit more off road grip. Didn't fancy buying 5 tyres so checked the condition of the spare - its like new 205/80/16. Checked the sizes of the tyres fitted

They are all 255/65/16???

So have bought some of these that are the same size as the spare! : KUMHO TYRES / 4X4 / KUMHO KL71 KUMHO KL 71 - 205R16 104Q XL TL :: £78.80 :: 4x4 Tyres - SUV Tyres - All Terrain Tyres - Off Road Tyres - 16" :: R16" - 205/80/16, 205/80 R 16 ::

Think they will do the trick for deer extraction!!!

Thanks for all of the replies
