When i bought my freelander i came with the factory hands free nokia phone.
Its all connected up, it cuts out the radio when trying to make a call as it suspose to do, i have put a sim card into the back of the handset.
To only thing is that i says no reception when you switch it on.
Am i missing something or something not connected.

Pete.

hi read your post again what year is the freelander? dont think any freelander came with a handsfree kit fitted as standard only new ones, best place to look is passenger side area under dash area or near front of centre consul follow the rest of wires from craddle should find a black box with connections for a mike and speaker and aerial cheers tig

When porky fitted mine,he bought the kit un the arial for the phone was a tax disk wiff the lead coming out[bi directinal loopsystem] un is stuck to the lhs window,so worth checkin it aint bin cut. . . .:)

I have just had a Wireless system fitted in mine, it's the bollox!

You leave yer phone in your pocket and it automatically connects to the wireless kit once your in the motor and downloads your phone settings to it. It's called a Parrot and the best thing I have bought in years.

You don't need an aerial either as the phone in your pocket does all the work. It's great!!

its a 1999 S plate.
I bought the freelander with it already fitted.
Under the passenger dash there is the box to plug the handset into, that then goes into the box under the passenger seat that has the speaker lead coming ou of it and the aireal lead what i cant trace back as its feed under the plastic trimming seals.

are you sure the phone and sim card are compatible. they need to be on tghe same network if the phone is locked, also, how old is the simcard, we had an old simcard that hadnt been used for ages and they had cut it off

the phone is not loked ust comes up with no reception.
Used a new orange sim card in there and still not working.

Pete.

but if the phone was registered originally as vodaphone or o2 for example, it may not work with an orange sim. Same as when you get an ordinary phone from orange, it won't work with another network sim unless it is unlocked
