I have a 200TDi and finishing the rebuild. There was no wire from the handbrake switch when it was dismantled for the rebuild. I have added a wire from the switch to the plug in the engine bay (White & Yellow Wire) and I have continuity from the switch to the connector on the circuit board on the dashboard.
The problem is that there is no 12 volt supply on to it, any ideas on where the issue could be in the printed circuit board that supports the lamps on the dashboard?

Also, is this an MoT requirement to have a dashboard indicator for the handbrake position?

Thanks

It is not a mot requirement. I have just had this issue with a new loom and it turned out to be a poor connection across the bulb holder of the old warning light panel. So I would Definitly start by cleaning up Everything on the warning panels.

Thanks, they do look a bit cruddy given the car is 30 years old.
