ok my handbrake light keeps coming on as cable seems to be a bit to slack so can someone tell me the proper procedure to rectify is it the big nut on the drum first or cable first in confussed help is much appriciated

Isn’t the handbrake light also illuminated by the low fluid level sensor in the master cylinder? Check the level too.

It sure is mate but the cable is loose causing the lever to creep back up causing light to come on. I adjusted the shoes today but lever still loose where is the cable adjustment took drivers seat out lifted panel up all I get there is ecu and fuse box no opening to adjust cable help
 
See here if you can work it out, the hand brake cable on the bracket so its underneath the
seatbox

The adjustment for cable slack (after you’ve adjusted the shoes) is under the inspection panel between the seats, where the cable passes through the bulkhead.
Also if the cable is stiff or partially seized it can cause the light to stay on, as the handbrake lever is not sprung....it just drops under gravity to the rest position once the cable tension is taken up.
Adjust so you can pull the handbrake up four clicks.

i thought it was there but unfortunatly for me its been riveted on unless there small allen screws as my eyesight is crap need glasses?

what age is your truck, if its 300 tdi onwards undo the 2 securing bolts that hold lever and bracket ,pull through seat box and adjust ,if earlier you need to do it through the seat box with center panel removed a cut down 19mm spanner with a slot cut in the ring end so as it fits over cable makes adjusting easier
